This workshop (MW-F6) will be held in conjunction with the 2008 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation on Monday, May 19, 2008 in Pasadena, CA, USA.
Abstract
The purpose of this full day workshop is to convene participants from the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge, to report on recent advances in intelligent vehicle research. The DARPA Urban Challenge was a competition held in November of 2007. Competitors developed full-sized autonomous vehicles to navigate through a mock city environment, executing simulated military supply missions while merging into moving traffic, navigating traffic circles, negotiating busy intersections, and avoiding obstacles. Resulting research includes theoretical and practical developments in perception, control, and motion planning for intelligent autonomous vehicles operating in urban scenarios. Due to the broad nature of the problems, the highly successful conclusion of the event, and the extensive media coverage, it is expected that this workshop will be of significant interest to researchers in the areas of mobile robotics, field robotics, and intelligent vehicles, and also to individuals from the industrial research and development community.
Final Program is now available. Note the timing for the poster session.
